About Our Practice

Christmas is upon us once again…. Shrewsbury is such a charming place at this time of year. The indoor market is fantastic for presents with locally produced gifts and really amazing food…it was the source of inspiration for my ‘secret santa!’ I easily got all my presents sorted this year…. along with a trip to Tanners.

We are in the Christmas spirit at Belmont and looking forward to a well-earned rest. It has been a very busy year, orthodontics continues to be in demand not just for children but also with more and more adults signing up. Next time you are in the practice take a look at our waiting room presentation, it features our own smile ambassadors and the amazing results they have achieved with orthodontics.

Lingual orthodontics continues to be popular……I am just back from another fantastic meeting in Paris where many of my European colleagues run practices offering nothing but lingual treatment for adults. With no subsidised orthodontics for children it seems that people generally embark on treatment later on in life and therefore demand the best aesthetics that lingual offers. Clearly a different mind-set to what we have here in the UK.

I also popped into the Christmas markets while I was over there and would favour our local market any day…..especially after getting my bag stolen!! A lovely memory of my trip although the gendarmerie where very helpful.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Hope Santa knows I now need a new hand-bag…….

Covid 19

As you will know, the Prime Minister has confirmed that public restrictions have been significantly eased on 19th July.
Under the Government’s guidance “Health and care settings will continue to maintain appropriate infection prevention and control processes as necessary and this will be continually reviewed. Guidance will be updated based on the latest clinical evidence this summer.

With this in mind, we are asking all patients/visitors/chaperones to the Practice to adhere to the following:

  • If you need to come into the surgery for an appointment, please remember that social distancing remains in place in the dental practice and to wear a face covering upon entering the building.
  • The use of the  intercom system will remain in use for the foreseeable future

Every dental practice is working extremely hard to provide care to our patients within the restrictions and guidance to ensure it’s safe to visit the dentist.

We hope that this helps clarify why these measures are in place for every NHS dental practice.
